Although Rushkoff dabbles in all media, new and old, and despite considerable success in each of them, he says writing is his little darling: "Writing gives me the time to say ideas that are bigger than sound bytes. I also enjoy the challenge of translating non-linear experiences--like the Internet or spirituality--into a very linear medium, and giving people who are uncomfortable with 'New Media' the chance to experience some of it through a book."
Rushkoff graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts, and a post-graduate directing fellowship from The American Film Institute.
Currently, he is writing a novel for HarperCollins due out in Summer 1997 called The Ecstasy Club, as well as a feature screenplay, Seekers. He is creator/executive producer of a new TV movie about "Goth" culture for Disney, and has several television series in development -- a magazine show, a kid's program, and an interactive TV series.
So, what exactly is Rushkoff saying? Trouble & Attitude rolled camera, and asked him.
